The City of Tustin Police Department seeks applicants for academy enrolled Police Recruit. This non-sworn position supports patrol and related duties while you attend a POST certified Basic Police Academy.

After graduation and completion of department requirements, recruits may advance to sworn Police Officer status. Applicants must be 21+, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, be legally authorized to work in the United States, and hold a valid California driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age at the time of appointment.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must be of good moral character with no felony convictions.
• Must possess a valid California driver's license.
• Must have fluent English language skills in both oral and written form.

Responsibilities

• Attend a POST certified Basic Police Academy while in a non-sworn role.
• Perform the full range of duties as a sworn officer after graduation and academy requirements.
• Complete the department's field training program during the probationary period.
