Job summary

The City of Yuba City is looking for a Police Recruit to join their Police Department. This entry-level position requires candidates to attend the Police Academy, where they will undergo training and be evaluated on their academic and physical performance. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to advance to the position of probationary Police Officer after graduation.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years old by appointment date.
• Possession of an appropriate, valid California driver's license required.
• Must obtain P.O.S.T. Basic Certificate within one year.

Responsibilities

• Attend and participate in the Police Academy under supervision.
• Achieve academic and physical performance standards during training.
• Transition to probationary Police Officer upon graduation.

The City of Yuba City is currently recruiting forPolice Recruit!

This position is an entry-level, non-sworn position in the Police Department. Employees in this class normally work under close and continuous supervision. Incumbents are currently attending a P.O.S.T. Basic Academy and must satisfactorily pass all of the requirements that lead to the possession of the P.O.S.T. Basic Certification. Appointment in this position is limited to the duration of the Police Academy. Academic progress and physical achievement are closely monitored during this training period. Upon successful completion and graduation from the Police academy, recruits shall be appointed to the position of probationary Police Officer.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience: No experience required.

Licenses/Certificates Required: Possession of an appropriate, valid State of California driver's license. Must be age 21 by date of appointment. Possession of P.O.S.T. Basic Certificate within one (1) year of appointment.
