The City of Irving is seeking a dedicated individual for a clerical position that focuses on public assistance and records management within the Police Department. The role involves preparing and processing various records, document scanning, and customer service, crucial for maintaining community safety. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, clerical experience, and bilingual capabilities, embracing the city’s commitment to diversity and inclusivity.
Duties include assisting the public and police department staff at the front counter or by phone, fax, and email to prepare, submit, and retrieve various types of records, such as offense/accident reports, Open Records Requests, security clearances, warrants, affidavits, and protective orders. Responsibilities also involve scanning documents into electronic storage programs, preparing daily cash reports and deposits, proofreading and revising complex police reports and legal documents, answering and routing telephone calls, and performing general office tasks.
Additional duties may include coordinating and scheduling classes, meetings, and group sessions, as well as setting up meeting rooms for scheduled events.
Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and six months of general clerical experience. Previous municipal experience and bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are beneficial. Hours may include evenings and weekends, with some schedules requiring mandatory evening hours.
Access to sensitive Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) is involved, requiring a thorough background check. Candidates will be subject to a polygraph exam and criminal history check. Applicants must not have any criminal conviction above the grade of a Class B misdemeanor or any Class B misdemeanor within the past 10 years; other convictions may also be considered.

PAY GRADE: GG11 / FULL PAY RANGE $18.53 - $26.12 per hour
