Job summary

The City of Surprise, AZ is seeking a Public Information support role to assist the Police Department’s PIO in information dissemination and community engagement. Responsibilities include managing social media, assisting with press materials, and supporting public safety outreach initiatives.

Ideal candidates have an associate degree and at least two years in law enforcement, social media, or digital marketing, with preference for public/government relations experience and a valid Arizona driver

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement, Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or closely related field.
• Two years of experience in law enforcement, social media, graphic design, and/or digital marketing.
• Public contact experience in governmental/community relations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in police-community outreach and marketing programs.
• Manage and monitor the Surprise Police Department's social media channels.
• Assist with development and implementation of public safety programs.
• Assist with graphic design materials and writing press releases.
• Respond to media inquiries and support internal/external communications.
