Police Officer, Yates Center Police Department

The City of Yates Center KS is currently taking applications for Full Time (84 hours every two weeks) Police Officer to fill open positions within the department. The department is a four-officer department, with a family friendly environment.

Yates Center is a city of approximately 1,300 people located in Woodson County, KS. Yates Center Police Officers may be required to work 12-hour shifts, holidays, nights and weekends as assigned.

TYPE: Full Time

SALARY: Entry level Police Officers can start at approximately $19.00/hr. with raises after graduation from KLETC, and a 90 probation, post-graduation.
Starting salary for Lateral entry Police Officers is commensurate with experience and qualifications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: No previous experience necessary.
Must have or be able to graduate KLETC within one (1) year of employment.

Education: High School diploma or GED. Possession of a valid driver’s
license is mandatory.

Applicants must be 21 years of age.
Applicants must be able to pass a criminal background check with no felony
or major misdemeanor convictions.
Applicants must be able to communicate proficiently.
Applicants must be able to pass a drug screen.

Applicants must pass a physical exam.

Applicants must be clear from any Brady Giglio issues.
