The City of Sausalito Invites Applications for the Position of

POLICE OFFICER TRAINEE

Pay: $35.31 Hourly during academy attendance

$91,811 Annually upon successful completion of the academy

Hiring Bonus: $5,000 upon Academy Graduation, and $5,000 after successful completion of Probationary Period ($10,000 total)

Upon successful completion of POST Academy, the position becomes a full-time probationary Police Officer position

The City of Sausalito Police Department is seeking empathetic, driven, collaborative Police Officer Trainees. The Police Officer Trainee learns to enforce Federal, State, and local laws and to respond to calls for the protection of life and property by attending a basic Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certified training academy to obtain the basic skills and fitness level necessary for the performance of Police Officer duties.

This position requires a thorough background investigation, a polygraph/voice stress analysis examination, a psychological assessment, and a medical exam prior to appointment.
