The Police Officer Trainee is a non-sworn member attending a POST-Certified Basic Police Academy. After graduation, the Trainee becomes a sworn Police Officer and begins an 18-month probation. Upon appointment, the salary increases to the first step of the Police Officer range.

Ideal Candidate: The candidate will possess good judgment, the ability to read and understand legal documents, follow instructions, work effectively under stress, project authority, observe accurately, perform strenuous physical activity, write reports, communicate effectively, and meet California POST medical and physical standards.
