If you are interested in giving back to the community, the Corona Police Department offers an exciting opportunity to join as a Police Officer Trainee. The department has 250 employees, including officers and professional staff, and is divided into three divisions: Field Services, Investigative Services, and Support Services. Our mission is to ensure community safety and security while maintaining trust through transparency. The Police Officer Trainee is an entry-level, non-sworn training classification. The successful candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, and characteristics:
Upon successful completion of the P.O.S.T-approved academy, a Police Officer Trainee may be appointed to the Police Officer classification. Below is an overview of the benefits for both roles and the changes upon promotion:
