Job summary

Town of Killingly's Police Department is seeking applicants for the police officer position. The selection process is competitive and requires passing the LEC Police Officer Written Exam; non-certified officers must apply via policeapp.com.

Salary: $69,000 during Academy rising to $74,500 after year. Benefits include retirement 457 up to 6%, take-home vehicle, uniforms, PTO, vacation and sick leave accrual, longevity after 5 years.

Qualifications

Must be 21 years of age or older.
U.S. citizen.
High school diploma or GED.
Valid driver’s license.
Pass physical agility test.
Written exam score 70% or higher.
Good character and high moral standards.
English literacy with ability to read/write and write clear reports.
Able to follow oral and written instructions; strong people skills.
Not eligible if criminal record, dishonorable discharge, or perjury.
