Position Description
We seek qualified individuals for the role of Police Officer (Recruit). Recruits attend the Police Academy and participate in training to acquire necessary skills and knowledge. Responsibilities include patrol, community relations, courtroom procedures, fingerprinting, report writing, physical training, firearm use, first aid, operating emergency equipment, and assisting in patrols. You will also learn dispatch procedures and perform related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Physical Test
Applicants must meet AZPOST minimum standards. Schedule testing via National Testing Network. All candidates must complete the Law Enforcement-Frontline National Testing. Those with an Associate degree or 60+ college credits may bypass the written exam by submitting unofficial transcripts during application, with official transcripts during background checks. The 60+ credits must include at least 15 semester units in natural sciences, social sciences, humanities, English, and communication/analytical thinking.

Physical Demands
This role requires climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions. Heavy work involves exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly. Incumbents may be exposed to hazardous environments, extreme temperatures, and disruptive situations.
