Job summary

The City of New Bern is seeking a Police Officer to perform protective service duties, enforce laws, investigate crimes, collect evidence and prepare clear reports. Much of the work occurs under emergency conditions and supervision by a Police Sergeant.

Responsibilities include patrolling by vehicle or on foot, observing for violations, interviewing victims and witnesses, responding to dispatches, issuing citations, attending court, serving warrants, and conducting follow up investigations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic Law Enforcement credentials or active eligibility.
