Job summary

The Webster Groves Police Department is seeking a dedicated Police Officer to perform general duty police work, enforce laws, and protect life and property. Responsibilities include investigations, report writing, and community engagement on an assigned shift under supervision.

Minimum qualifications include US citizenship, 21+, valid driver's license, no felony convictions, and Missouri POST Certification for 1st Class County.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen
• Must be at least 21 years old
• Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license
• Must not have any felony or serious misdemeanor convictions
• Must possess a Missouri P.O.S.T Certification for 1st Class County

Responsibilities

• Answers all emergency and non-emergency calls for service.
• Discovers and prevents the commission of crimes, enforces ordinances and all state and motor vehicle laws for designated areas.
• Conducts preliminary investigations, gathers evidence, obtains witness statements, makes arrests, and escorts prisoners from the scenes of crimes.
• Detains anyone wanted through the serving of warrants.
• Investigates motor vehicle accidents and assists local fire department and ambulance personnel.
• Makes dispositions of all complaints or inquiries or directs people to the proper organizations to handle the complaints.
