Job summary

The City of Casselberry is seeking qualified Police Officers to patrol and protect the community, respond to emergencies, and enforce Florida laws and local ordinances. Duties include vehicle patrols, responding to calls, making arrests, directing traffic, and reporting incidents with thorough documentation.

Applicants must beUnited States citizens, at least 19 years old for law enforcement, possess a high school diploma or GED, and have completed or be enrolled in the Florida Basic Recruit

Qualifications

• Must be at least 19 years old for law enforcement; 18 for corrections.
• Must be a United States citizen.
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Have no felony or misdemeanor involving perjury or false statement.
• Florida Basic Recruit Training Program or Equivalency of Training completed.
• Pass State Officer Certification Examination and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned zones by vehicle; respond to emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Arrest violators and enforce state laws and city ordinances.
• Direct and regulate traffic; investigate traffic accidents.
• Maintain public peace; provide general assistance to the public.
• Complete and file detailed reports; testify in court when required.
• Complete required trainings and adhere to safety procedures.
