Job summary

The City of Davenport seeks a Police Officer to enforce laws and protect lives and property. You will respond to calls, process crime scenes, conduct patrols, investigate crimes, and pursue suspects.

You may be assigned to several duties by the Chief of Police and must wear protective gear as required. Applicants must meet Florida requirements, be at least 19, hold a GED or high school diploma, have a valid Florida driver's license, pass exams and background checks, and be a US citizen or

Responsibilities

• Responds to calls for police service and protects lives and property.
• Processes crime scenes and investigates crimes, arresting suspects as needed.
• Drafts charges, testifies and presents evidence in court when required.
• Conducts proactive patrols and conducts business checks in the community.
• Enforces traffic laws and directs traffic at scenes and on streets.
• Completes required reports in an orderly, timely manner.
