The City of Bryan is currently accepting applications for Police Officer (entry level cadets or certified). This position performs a wide variety of tasks in support of law enforcement and crime prevention functions; performs investigative work and other special assignments; and performs a variety of technical and administrative tasks in support of the police department.

Application Deadline: Friday, October 16, 2026. Written Exam: Friday, October 23, 2026 (PFA following).

Formación

• High School Diploma or GED
• At least 21 years of age at the time of licensing
• Valid Texas driver’s license with good driving record
• No felony or Class A/B misdemeanors within past 10 years
• Military service discharge must be under honorable conditions if applicable

Responsabilidades

• Effect an arrest and subdue suspects as needed
• Prepare investigative and other reports with proper grammar
• Operate a law enforcement vehicle in day/night and emergency conditions
• Interview victims, witnesses, suspects, and confidential informants to gather information
• Communicate effectively over radio channels and with the public
• Conduct searches and surveillance as part of investigations
• Respond to emergencies and perform rescue operations when required
