The Cleveland Heights Police Department is accepting applications for
lateral transfer. Applications must be submitted via the City of Cleveland Heights website at
www.clevelandheights.com (click "employment opportunities").
The selection process includes an oral interview, background investigation, voice stress analysis, psychological evaluation, medical examination including drug screening, and any other necessary assessments to determine the applicant's qualifications and abilities. There will be no written or physical agility test.
If you do not meet all the minimum qualifications listed below, please do not submit an application.
Minimum requirements:
- Must be between 21 and 40 years old at the time of applying
- Must be a US citizen or naturalized citizen
- Possess valid and current OPOTA certification
- Valid Ohio driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- At least one year as a full-time civil service police officer with no more than one year of employment separation
- Must pass the Ohio Police and Fire Pension medical examination
