Qualifications

• Possession of certificate having completed approved basic peace officer training or completion of 20 yrs active duty as peace officer.
• Valid driver's license.
• Probationary period is one year.
• OPOTC Fitness Testing entry standards for new recruits apply.

Responsibilities

• Patrols property for open doors, gates, windows, fires or other hazards and assists in emergencies; enforces laws and checks identities.
• Monitors traffic conditions and parking facilities; issues tickets; apprehends violators; testifies in court as required.
• Investigates complaints and conducts criminal, administrative and accident investigations; communicates findings to hospital administration.
• Performs security duties at events and during emergencies; escorts visitors and assists staff; handles transports and patient-related procedures.
• Keeps logs, writes incident reports, relays messages and reviews changes in law enforcement procedures; conducts fingerprint scans and background checks.
