Job summary

City of Aspen is seeking Police Officer I, II or III (depending on experience) to join the Police Department. New hires without prior experience will attend the Police Academy with pay and full benefits during training.

Officers progress from Officer I to III with increasing experience and responsibilities, including academy, field training, and patrol duties. The role offers competitive hourly pay with hiring and salary ranges by level, along with excellent benefits such as retirement plans,

Qualifications

• Must possess an Associate degree or equivalent experience in criminal justice or related field.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Experience or aptitude in counseling/therapy is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Attend Colorado police academy and complete POST certification.
• Participate in Field Training Program and attain proficiency in patrol, investigations, and court procedures.
• Document case information clearly and accurately in reports and warrants.

Education

Associate degree in a relevant field (e.g. criminal justice)
