Job summary

Bloomfield Township is seeking a sworn Police Officer to enforce laws, patrol communities, and protect life and property. The role emphasizes partnership with residents and a commitment to professional integrity, with shifts including weekends, holidays, days and nights.

You will conduct investigations, regulate traffic, provide public information, and perform related duties while upholding the township’s standards of service and honor. Training and career advancement are supported.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years of age and U.S. citizen
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
• Eyesight corrected to 20/20; weight and height proportionate to medical standards
• No felony convictions and minimal traffic record
• Pass MCOLES pre-employment batteries and be certifiable by MCOLES
• Pass a department physical exam and a drug screen
• Become an Oakland County resident or live within a bordering county within one year of appointment

Responsibilities

• Enforces laws and patrols assigned areas in a professional, responsive manner.
• Maintain order, protect life and property, and conduct investigations as needed.
• Render aid, regulate traffic, and provide information to citizens.
• Shift assignments include weekends, holidays, days, nights or special hours as required.
