Job summary

The City of Friendswood is seeking full-time Police Officers to patrol, intervene in crises, and conduct preliminary investigations in partnership with the community.

Applicants must meet one of several criteria (TCOLE certified, academy enrollment, military service with honorable discharge, or 60 college hours with 2.0 GPA). Cadet hires receive salary during academy and transition to officer after licensing.

Qualifications

• TCOLE certified or enrolled in a TCOLE-accredited entry-level program (police academy)
• 3 years of Active Duty in the U.S. Armed Forces with an Honorable Discharge
• 60 accredited college hours with a cumulative GPA of 2.0
• New hires not certified will be classified as Cadet and will receive a salary of $68,494.40 while attending the academy and, after graduation and licensing, pay will be adjusted to $70,678.40

• Perform routine patrols and respond to emergencies.
• Engage in crisis intervention and community partnerships.
• Conduct preliminary criminal investigations and gather evidence.
