Job summary

Middle Georgia State University is seeking a Police Officer for the Cochran campus. The role enforces state and local laws, campus regulations, and protects life and property across MGA facilities.

Responsibilities include patrolling, enforcing parking, preparing reports, investigating incidents, making arrests when needed, testifying in court, and assisting motorists. Strong knowledge of public safety on campus is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with the completion of high school or equivalent.
  • Ability to meet current requirements set forth by the Police Standards and Training Council for the State of Georgia.
  • Ability to attend and successfully complete basic police academy.

  • Assist local jurisdictions as outlined in the Georgia mutual aid act.
  • Serves as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) as defined by the Jeanne Clery Act.
