POLICE OFFICER

MUHLENBERG TOWNSHIP POLICE DEPARTMENT

The Muhlenberg Police Department is seeking applicants to join our dedicated police force. The Township aims to hire individuals who are driven to excel and wish to positively impact the community. Several positions are available.

Applicants must:

1. Be at least 21 years old by the appointment date.
2. Be a U.S. citizen.
3. Have a high school diploma or GED.
4. Possess a Pennsylvania driver’s license before appointment.
5. Not have a disqualifying criminal record.

Salary details:

• Non-ACT 120 applicants start at $53,526.53 (cadet rate) during academy training.
• Upon graduation or with prior certification, starting salary is $85,637.83.
• Experienced officers may start up to $96,345.44, depending on qualifications.
• Top patrol officer pay in 2025 is $107,053.06.

Testing information:

A written test followed by a Physical Agility Test will be held on Saturday, July 26th, 2025. Registration begins at 7:30 AM at the BCIU building, 1111 Commons Blvd, Reading, PA 19605. The written test starts promptly at 8:00 AM. The Physical Agility Test will follow immediately at the Muhlenberg Senior High School gymnasium, Sharp Ave, Reading, PA 19605.
