The City of La Habra is a vibrant Southern California community, located in northwest Orange County. It has over 63,000 residents within 7.3 square miles. Since 1925, the La Habra Police Department has been dedicated to providing a safe environment. The department collaborates with residents to address community concerns and actively involves the public in policing efforts.
Includes SWAT, Traffic units, Investigations, Gangs and Narcotics units, Regional Task Force, School Resource Officers, and Canine handlers.
Perform law enforcement, crime prevention, traffic enforcement, investigations, and support special programs.
Knowledge of: Law enforcement laws, police practices, geography of La Habra, investigative techniques, and standard software.
Skills and Abilities: Accurate observation, quick thinking, effective communication, law interpretation, report writing, physical fitness, and relationship building.
High school diploma or equivalent, and completion or enrollment in a CA POST-certified police academy within 24 months.
No prior law enforcement experience required; related work helpful.
Age: 21 at time of appointment.
Physical requirements include good vision, hearing, and fitness; U.S. citizenship or application for citizenship; valid California driver’s license; and compliance with other physical and legal standards.
