Requirements include a High School diploma or GED, U.S. citizenship or eligible for citizenship, valid California driver’s license, and completion of a California POST Academy within the past three years.

• Patrol the City in radio-equipped car or on foot.
• Answer calls for protection of life and property; enforce laws.
• Conduct preliminary and follow-up investigations of disturbances, burglaries, thefts, and other incidents.
• Patrol the City and respond to traffic incidents and emergencies.
• Observe and control routine and unusual traffic conditions.
• Assist and advise motorists; enforce traffic safety laws.
• Make arrests as necessary.
• Interview victims, complainants, and witnesses.
• Interrogate suspects; gather and preserve evidence.
