WAYLAND POLICE DEPARTMENT: FULL-TIME POLICE OFFICER
The City of Wayland Police Department is currently accepting applications for a full-time police officer position. Candidates should be MCOLES certifiable or currently employed as law enforcement officers with all required MCOLES certifications. Academy sponsorships are also available upon discretion. Applicants must successfully complete the pre-employment screening process. Those working outside of Michigan are also encouraged to apply and must be eligible to complete the MCOLES Recognition of Prior Training and Experience Program. Candidates with prior law enforcement experience may be eligible for a higher starting wage (lateral transfer). As of July 1, 2025, base salary range will be between $57,264 and $72,050.
