Police Officers maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, staff, and property. Responsibilities include patrolling, enforcing rules, deterring criminal activity, investigating incidents, monitoring alarms, responding to issues, providing customer service, and responding to violent acts. Officers are armed and may serve as shift supervisors, organizing work and instructing staff.

Responsibilities include:

• Handling evidence related to criminal investigations.
• Responding to extreme violence, potentially involving deadly force.
• Supporting investigations with system-wide implications.
• Carrying and deploying firearms properly.
• Issuing citations using law enforcement applications like the PA Justice Network.
• Investigating incidents reported by staff, visitors, physicians, and patients.
• Performing as a Security Officer when needed.
• Escalating issues appropriately.
• Transporting individuals in criminal custody.
• Serving legal documents such as warrants and subpoenas.
• Leading shift operations and instructing staff as needed.
• Supporting various facilities with knowledge of layouts and policies.
