Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Be at least 20 years old and a U.S. citizen.
• Must hold a valid NC Driver’s License (or ability to obtain).
• BLET certification required (Out-of-state certifications may be transferable).
• No felony convictions.
• No convictions of DUI/DWI or certain misdemeanors within the last 5 years.
• Must adhere to an on-call rotation, with availability for after-hours response.
• Must successfully complete the City and Police Department hiring process, including background investigation, psychological evaluation, polygraph examination, physical fitness test, medical examination (including drug screening), and Criminal Investigations Division selection procedure.

Additional Details

Salary range: $26.89 - $38.43 (DOE)

Sign-on Bonus: $2,000 (paid as a lump sum after completion of a successful probationary period)
