DLA is seeking Police Officers to perform law enforcement duties to protect life and property across its installations. The role includes patrols, incident reporting, and initial investigations to support national security and public safety.
This essential position requires responding to emergencies, enforcing laws, and coordinating with security and fire units. Candidates must meet GS-05 equivalency and complete preemployment fitness tests at multiple DLA sites.
This is an open-continuous announcement with an established initial cut-off date of 11/02/2025. The position is designated as an Essential Position, meaning it cannot be vacated during war or national emergencies without seriously impairing the mission. Assignments may be performed at any job site within the organization.

Experience may be paid, unpaid, or volunteer work through programs such as Peace Corps, AmeriCorps, and other community organizations. All qualifying experience, including volunteer work, will receive credit.
The DLA Police program provides consistent, high‑quality training. Officers receive training through the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco, GA, and the Army Civilian Police Academy at Fort Leonard Wood, MO. Recruit officers begin training immediately with full pay and benefits.
The role requires extended physical exertion: running, walking, standing, bending, driving, and occasionally lifting, pushing, or carrying items weighing 50 pounds or more. Physical agility, stamina, and strength are required for pursuit, apprehension, or detainment. Heavy weights of up to 150 pounds may be pulled or dragged. Annual physical fitness tests and training in defensive tactics, active shooter/hostage response, handcuffing, and firearms qualifications are required.
Work occurs in variable weather conditions, including extreme heat or cold, high noise levels, and high-force protection environments. Risks include moderate to high potential for danger or serious injury. Personal protective equipment—vests, coats, gloves, boots, goggles, masks, shields—is used at times. Facilities may be limited in some locations.
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.

Drug‑free workplace policy: The DLA requires pre‑employment, reasonable suspicion, post‑accident, and random drug testing.
