United States Capitol Police is hiring for multiple police officer vacancies in Washington, D.C. The agency protects Congress, the public, and the Capitol, with a focus on security excellence and inclusion. A starting salary of $86,530 is offered, plus a $10,000 retention bonus and a student loan repayment program of up to $80,000, among other benefits.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens, 21–39 years old, with a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Must be a United States citizen.
• Must be between 21 and 39 years of age.
• Must have a High School diploma or GED.
• Must possess and maintain a valid U.S. driver’s license.
• Must show evidence of a responsible driving record in the past year.
• Male applicants must be registered for Selective Service.
• Must successfully complete a full field background investigation.
• Travel for hiring assessments and training is at applicant’s expense.
• Psychological, medical, polygraph, fitness, criminal, credit, and tax checks required.
• Must successfully complete all required training.
