• POLICE OFFICER CANDIDATE (NON-CERTIFIED APPLICANT) - $53,423 with a $2,500 sign‑on bonus.
• POLICE OFFICER – (CERTIFIED APPLICANT) - $55,025 with a $3,000 sign‑on bonus.

Responsibilities

Patrols assigned areas of the Town and responds to calls for service; enforces all federal and state laws and Town ordinances relating to public safety and welfare. Works under stressful, high‑risk conditions. Performs related work as assigned. Reports to a Corporal and/or Sergeant as assigned.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in criminal justice, political science or other related field, plus completion of required law enforcement training; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
• Must possess Law Enforcement Certification.
• Must possess a valid S.C. driver's license.
• Must be in good health and able to meet the Lexington Police Department's physical fitness requirements and be of good character with no criminal record.
