The City of Madison, Illinois, is accepting applications to establish a Police Officer Eligibility List for both Lateral Hire and Entry Level Hire applicants.
Applicants must sign up at the desk of the Madison Police Department, 615 Madison Ave., Madison, Illinois starting on Monday, June 1, 2025, at 9:00 am through Monday, June 16, 2025. No sign-ups after 11:59 pm on Monday, June 16, 2025.
The written exam and agility test will be conducted on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 9:00 am at the Madison Fire Station located at 1800 3rd St., Madison, Illinois. Sign-in starts at 8:30 am. The agility test will immediately follow the written exam at a site to be determined.
Lateral Hire applicants are exempt from the agility test. Entry Level Hire applicants possessing a valid Power Card will be exempt from the agility test on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at 9:00 am.
Mandatory orientation will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 9:00 am at the Madison Fire Station. Application packets will be handed out at the orientation.
Oral interviews will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025.
Salary for Probationary Police Officers is $29.21 per hour, and for Police Officers, it is $32.36 per hour.
