The Eugene Police Department (EPD) is a progressive, professional law-enforcement agency serving Eugene, Oregon. We work in partnership with our community to promote safety, enforce laws, prevent crimes, and safeguard constitutional rights.
Starting on May 1, 2025, we are seeking new candidates. Invitations to the testing phase will be sent on a rolling basis to applicants with complete applications who qualify. To receive early invitations, submit your application early. Early applicants will also gain access to a paid practice test, a study guide, and the opportunity to participate in an ORPAT practice session.

Our testing process operates on a “first-come, first-served” basis, with a recruitment process duration of approximately 90 days from testing to employment.
For out-of-town applicants, only one trip to Eugene is required for testing and the interview. Successful candidates will receive a conditional job offer before returning for psychological and medical evaluations, which we can accommodate remotely if needed.
This position involves law enforcement duties such as responding to incidents, serving as a link between the department and the public, investigating scenes, enforcing laws, making arrests, preserving evidence, reporting, and community policing.
