A leading university in Michigan is seeking dedicated Police Officers to enforce laws and regulations on campus. Responsibilities include patrolling, investigating incidents, and ensuring safety during events. Ideal candidates will possess strong moral character and meet physical standards. This role requires flexibility for 12-hour shifts, including nights and weekends.
Police Officers enforce University ordinances, regulations and State laws, issues citations, makes arrests, participates in the prevention, detection, and investigation of crimes, and performs other appropriate service functions for the University.
Duties:
Patrols campus areas for crime prevention, parking and traffic control, and issues citations. Investigates crimes, accidents and complaints. Interviews witnesses, crime victims, and suspects. Testifies in criminal, civil and administrative hearings. Evaluates and responds to emergencies by requesting fire, medical or maintenance assistance. Prepares reports. Transports persons and property. Obtains and serves warrants, subpoenas and other court documents. Recognizes and identifies safety hazards and ensures the appropriate response. Performs crowd and traffic control at University special events. Performs the duties and fulfills the responsibilities of a Service Officer when assigned. Performs other specialist duties when assigned.

Multi-jurisdictional law enforcement agencies - in order to coordinate activities and exchange information. Judicial system employees - in order to assist with prosecution.
Administrators - in order to provide and receive information.
Campus Associations - in order to coordinate activities and assist with programs.
