Job summary

The City of Dublin is seeking a Police Officer to perform various duties related to law enforcement, including the protection of life and property and the enforcement of laws. The position requires effective performance in emergency situations and the use of force when necessary.

The ideal applicant should be at least 21 years of age, hold a high school diploma or G.E.D., and possess a valid Georgia driver’s license. The selected individual must pass a series of examinations.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Georgia driver's license.
• Must pass a drug screen, Polygraph exam, physical agility test, and psychological exam.

Description

Performs duties which provide protection of life and property; enforcement of federal, state, and local laws; response to emergency situations; investigation of criminal activity; intervention in criminal activity; provide crime prevention information and proactive patrol. Assignment to specialized units within the Department include Support Services, Housing Authority, School Resource Officer, Special Operations Unit, or others. Work is performed according to established policies and procedures; therefore, a Police Officer must be able to exercise sound judgment, especially in emergency situations. Work requires tactful, conscientiousness, effective and efficient performance of duties with minimum supervision and contains a substantial element of personal risk. An employee in this position may be required to use force to affect an arrest, protect him or herself, or protect others.
