Job summary

The Branson Police Department seeks exceptional, dedicated officers for a full-time, on-site role in Branson, Missouri. Officers will work 10-hour shifts under a ten-step pay matrix, with tuition reimbursement and equipment allowances to support training and readiness for duty.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, successful completion of a certified academy, and a valid Missouri POST certificate, with up to 30 days to obtain POST if coming from another state.

OUR REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND TRAINING

• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Successful completion of a Certified Law Enforcement Academy
• Must possess and maintain a valid Missouri P.O.S.T. Certificate as a condition of employment
• Candidates with certifications from other states will be allowed 30 days to receive P.O.S.T. Certification in the state of Missouri after the offer of employment is made

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE THAT WILL SET YOU APART FROM OTHER CANDIDATES

• Two (2) years of experience in a similar or larger sized agency

MISCELLANEOUS REQUIREMENTS

• Must be at least 21 years of age at the start of employment.
• Vision must be correctable to 20/40 and pass the Ishihara color vision test and/or be able to recognize the colors of traffic signals and devices showing red, green and amber.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and be insurable under the City of Branson's motor vehicle coverage when operating a vehicle as a part of the position.
• Must possess no felony convictions at any time while employed by the City of Branson.
• Must be able to pass drug and alcohol screenings, a background investigation, polygraph, psychological, and medical/physical examinations.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
