Job summary

The City of Goose Creek seeks a dedicated substance abuse counselor/case manager to work within the Police Department, coordinating care for overdose survivors and linking them to treatment pathways. You will support police-based programs addressing the overdose crisis, provide counseling, and develop tailored treatment plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral science field required; Master’s preferred.
• 1 year experience in substance abuse counseling and/or case management preferred.
• CAC/LAC/LMSW certifications or in-process applicants accepted.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate care for overdose survivors and pathways to recovery.
• Assist police with overdose crisis programs and on-scene responses as needed.
• Provide substance abuse counseling and develop treatment plans.
• Maintain case notes and documentation; provide crisis interventions as needed.
• Coordinate referrals to outside agencies and community resources.
• Collaborate with PAARI, DAODAS, and other programs; collect/analyze data for policy changes.
