Responsibilities

• Utilizes analytical techniques to detect and track down criminal activity that takes place in various mediums which may include on digital devices, computers, and the internet
• Provides guidance and mentoring to police officers in conducting investigations, executing search warrants, and subpoenas, and interview and interrogation techniques

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree
• Obtained Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
• Completion of advanced investigative and interview/interrogation training, evidence/forensics courses, and sexual assault/trauma-informed interviewing training, and experience putting these trainings into practice
• Proven experience with campus or community policing, Title IX coordination, or University administrative processes
• Proficiency with case-management software, records systems, and basic forensic tools
• Bilingual skills, community-outreach experience, and demonstrated cultural competence
• Critical thinking, sound decision-making, and investigative problem solving (ability to gather facts, form hypotheses, and document investigative steps)
• Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and respect for confidentiality
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary responses (medical, counseling, campus conduct, prosecutors) and to develop community partnerships
• 10 years total law enforcement experience with at least 3 years of investigative or follow-up experience.
