The City of Hanford Police Department is seeking Police Cadets who have been accepted into or are attending a California POST-certified Basic Police Academy. Cadets are hired as City employees while attending the academy and gain valuable experience as they prepare for a career in law enforcement.

Cadets are non-sworn, with potential to advance to sworn officers after academy completion and departmental training.

Qualifications

• Acceptance into or current enrollment in a California POST-certified Basic Police Academy.
• Minimum age of 20 years at time of application.
• Valid California operator's license with a good driving record.
• Eligibility granted by POST for academy enrollment.
