INTERNAL UH EMPLOYEES ONLY POSTING

Attends full-time Criminal Justice Training Center Basic PeaceOfficer Certification Program and passes the TCLEOSE licensingexamination. The Cadet must pass all required testing andbackground investigation and be approved for sponsorship by UH-DPS.Pursuant to the State of Texas Executive Order No. GA-48, thisposition researches, works on, or has access to criticalinfrastructure and requires the ability to maintain the security orintegrity of the University infrastructure. This position requirespersonnel be routinely reviewed to determine whether or notcriminal history or continuous connections for the government orpolitical apparatus of a foreign adversary might prevent theemployee from being able to maintain the security or integrity ofthe infrastructure.

1. Attends classes, participates in classroom discussions andgroup projects, and maintains comprehensive notebooks of subjectscovered in classes.

2. Prepares research papers and homework as assigned,maintaining satisfactory performance in all areas of theacademy.

3. Participates in the physical training program, firearmstraining program, defensive tactics program and practicalproblems.

4. Complies with assignments and instructions given by UHDepartment of Public Safety Chief of Police or by any member of theCriminal Justice Training Center Staff.

5. Adheres to University of Houston System and University ofHouston Central Campus policies and procedures.

6. Adheres to University of Houston Department of Public SafetyStandards of Operations.

7. Performs other duties as assigned.

MQ: Education: High School Diploma or GED. Must be willing tosign educational contract and must successfully complete all phasesof the departmental selection process prior to attending theCriminal Justice Training Center Basic Peace Officer CertificationProgram.

Experience: No experience is required.

Certification/Licensing: Requires technical certification orlicensing directly related to the job, as specified on the jobposting details.
