Pole Inspection - Restoration Field Supervisor

In this role, your primary responsibility is to direct, supervise, monitor, and coach crews during work, ensuring proper administration of training, disciplinary action, work production, and adherence to safety practices and interpretation of policies.

Job Type: Full-Time +, Exempt

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for training crews on proper job briefing techniques and work tasks and ensuring hazards associated with the job are mitigated.
  • Confers with customers, property owners, the general public, other contractors, and representatives of utilities and governmental agencies.
  • Establish necessary communication with the client’s representatives and obtains permission from property owners to perform work as needed.
  • Directs the crew members on specific job tasks.
  • Receives and interprets orders by the coordinator of utilities and regional leadership.
  • Participates in company training of all regional safety guidelines and is required to perform all work by the regional safety policies.
  • Responsible for job cost control and the maintenance and accuracy of records.
  • Responsible for inspections, proper working conditions, and necessary repairs to tools and equipment.
  • Directs emergency situations and assists with accident reports and incident investigations.
  • All other duties as required or requested by leadership.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to pass a DOT physical in order to obtain a DOT medical card.
  • Ability to oversee multiple crews and jobs.
  • Ability to read & follow prints.
  • Must be able to identify job site hazards.
  • Must have the cognition to solve problems.
  • Ability to visualize the job, follow directions, and work safely & productively.
  • This is a minimum 40-hour workweek with Saturdays considered inclement weather make-up days.

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years as a Foreperson in the pole inspection/restoration industry.
  • 3+ years of driving experience with minimal non-moving violations.

Pre-Screen:

  • Upon offer, employees may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.

License & Certifications:

  • A valid Driver's license is required.
  • Ability to achieve OQ certifications for Gas related tasks.

Travel Requirements:

  • Overnight travel to and within the project areas may be required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Rare: (less than 10%): squatting, depth-perception, color-vision, crawling, pushing, pulling, seeing distance, climbing ladders, balancing, gripping.
  • Occasional: (up to 33%): stooping, kneeling, squatting, body-twisting, sense-of-touch, manual-dexterity, lifting to 10 lbs., lifting to 50 lbs., lifting over 10 lbs. to 50 lbs., climbing stairs, carrying, lifting, range-of-motion, reaching.
  • Frequent: (up to 66%): standing, walking, sitting.
  • Continuous: (up to 100%): seeing, reading, hearing-speech-range, speaking clearly.
