Job summary

The Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences (CIRES) at the University of Colorado Boulder seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor in polar and/or cryospheric sciences. The position will lead a research group using remote sensing, in-situ observations, and numerical modeling to advance understanding of cold-region processes.

Faculty duties include teaching at CU Boulder, supervising graduate students, and contributing to CIRES and department activities.

Qualifications

• PhD in Atmospheric Science, Earth Science, Engineering, Geography, Oceanography, Physics, or a related field by appointment.
• Evidence of ability to establish an externally funded, impactful research program.
• Commitment to high-quality teaching and mentoring of early career scientists.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an active, externally funded research program and supervise graduate students.
• Instruct at undergraduate and graduate levels and contribute to professional service.
• Develop a globally recognized research program in polar and/or cryospheric science.
