Job summary

Shriners Hospitals for Children seeks a Point of Care Coordinator to optimize POC testing services and ensure timely, accurate results to support patient care. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution.
• 4 Years Clinical Laboratory experience
• Associate's degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution and 5 years of work-related experience.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the introduction and implementation of new POC procedures and in the evaluation of new POC instruments.
• Participates in the Clinical Lab Quality Assurance Program, instrument selection, preventative maintenance, safety test procedures and reagent purchases.
• Participates in the writing of procedure manuals or other reference materials.
• Demonstrates the ability to professionally interact and communicate appropriately with staff, patients, families, and visitors.
• Assists in monitoring and documenting laboratory results into the Shrine System.
• Performs and documents preventative maintenance and function checks for PC equipment and assures proper operation of instrumentation.
• Participates in laboratory charge reconciliation.
• Performs a variety of comprehensive registration and scheduling functions.
