Job summary

This is a full-time on-site role with strong emphasis on accuracy and confidentiality. The candidate will enter charges, process claims, code procedures and diagnoses, and coordinate with providers to ensure compliant EMR usage and billing language.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of insurance billing and general office duties experience.
• Certified coder through the National Healthcareer Association or other recognized coding institution; certification within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Enter charge information into entry program and generate billing.
• Process insurance claims including Medicare/Medicaid, managed care and other commercial insurers.
• Code procedures and diagnoses with documentation for billing.
• Coordinate with providers to ensure EMR templates support billing.
• Follow up with insurance companies to ensure claims are paid.
• Maintain billing records, reports and files.
