Job summary

Foot and Ankle Specialists of the Mid-Atlantic is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our podiatry practice. You’ll work directly with patients, support physicians, and be part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Hands-on training and ongoing clinical development are provided, offering a clear path to grow your clinical skills. You will welcome patients, take vitals, assist with procedures, manage documentation, and coordinate care across office locations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of Medical Assistant program or 1+ year clinical experience.
• CMA or RMA certification preferred.
• Experience with medical terminology.
• Strong communication, teamwork and multitasking skills.
• Ability to travel between local office locations, as needed.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).

Responsibilities

• Welcome, room, and prepare patients for exams and procedures.
• Take vitals, update medical histories, record medications/allergies, and document in the EMR.
• Assist physicians with minor procedures, post‑op care, digital X‑rays, and basic podiatric services.
• Apply dressings, DME, and provide patient instructions and education.
• Manage lab specimens, complete insurance verifications and pre‑authorizations, and process prescriptions as directed.
• Make post‑operative phone calls, answer patient questions, and provide excellent customer service.
• Open, prep, clean, and close exam rooms; sterilize instruments; manage inventory and supplies.
• Maintain accurate documentation, support back‑office operations, and ensure HIPAA compliance.
