Qualifications

• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant with 1–2 years’ experience preferred.
• Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
• Submit proof of externship hours from an accredited program.
• Ability to verify graduation from an accredited school.
• Current BLS Certification required (American Heart Association/Red Cross/Institute).
• ACLS Certification required for Cardio Department (AHA/Red Cross/Institute).
• Valid government or State ID on file.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to the time and attendance policy as written in the employee handbook.
• Float to alternative locations as instructed by your supervisor with short notice and ensure adequate site coverage.
• Provide vital signs, interview the patient/family, and charting.
• Collaborates with healthcare providers in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient needs.
• Maintain positive, effective communication with providers, supervisors, peers, and subordinates.
• Ensure providers’ orders are directed to appropriate departments.
• Assist with exams, procedures, removal of sutures, etc., as requested by providers.
• Complete medication and DME authorizations for patients promptly.
• Provide walk-in triage and interventions under the Clinical Nurse Leader.
