Job summary

Foot and Ankle Specialists of Illinois is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to support physicians in a fast-paced podiatry practice. You will room patients, take vitals, document in the EMR, and assist with exams and procedures.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of MA experience, EMR proficiency (ModMed or similar), and strong communication while maintaining HIPAA-compliant records. This on-site role offers a patient-focused environment and opportunities to grow with the team.

Qualifications

• 3+ Years of Medical Assistant experience in a fast-paced medical office, outpatient clinic, or procedural setting.
• Clinical or private practice experience in a clinical outpatient setting is preferred.
• Procedural comfort with rooming patients, assisting providers, documenting visits, preparing exam rooms, and supporting in-office procedures.

Responsibilities

• Own the clinical flow: room patients, prepare charts, update histories, document visit information, and keep the clinic moving efficiently.
• Support providers directly: assist physicians during exams, procedures, wound care, injections, casting, splinting, and DME dispensing.
• Take vitals, review medications, obtain histories, confirm visit reason, and document accurately in the EMR.
• Use ModMed EMR and other platforms to document visits, input data, prepare orders, upload forms, and support follow-up tasks.
• Prepare and maintain exam rooms, stock supplies, and keep equipment organized.
• Educate patients with clear explanations of treatment plans and next steps.
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant documentation: accurate, timely, and privacy-compliant.
• Coordinate with team: work with physicians, front desk, billing, and management to support patient flow and care.
• Elevate patient experience by communicating clearly and maintaining a calm, professional environment.
• Identify inefficiencies and help improve clinical workflows as the practice grows.
