The role involves managing high-risk patients, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team, and ensuring accurate documentation. A DPM degree and active state license are required; 4–5 years in podiatry and wound care are strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• DPM degree from an accredited program.
• Active and unrestricted state license to practice podiatric medicine.
• Board certification or board eligibility preferred.
• 4–5 years of experience in podiatry, with long-term care, geriatrics, or wound care preferred.
• Strong knowledge of diabetic foot care and wound management.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive podiatric evaluations for foot and lower extremity issues.
• Diagnose and treat infections, ulcers, deformities, and nail disorders.
• Perform nail debridement, callus reduction, wound debridement, and minor procedures.
• Develop individualized treatment plans focusing on prevention and high‑risk conditions.
• Oversee wound care in collaboration with nursing and wound care teams.
• Monitor chronic conditions affecting foot health and diabetes-related complications.
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and physicians for coordinated care.
• Attend care plan meetings and contribute to interdisciplinary planning.
• Educate residents, families, and staff on foot care and footwear.
• Maintain timely, compliant clinical documentation per regulations.
• Ensure infection control and HIPAA/OSHA compliance.
• Provide guidance to podiatry assistants and support staff.
