Job summary

One Community Health in California is seeking a licensed podiatrist to provide quality foot and ankle care to our patients. This 0.5 FTE position (20 hours per week) requires strong clinical skills and commitment to compliant practice.

Job description

The Podiatrist is responsible for quality podiatry services to One Community Health patients. The incumbent is responsible for compliance with applicable laws, regulations and policies pertaining to medical practice, clinic operations , and licensing.

FTE: 0.5 (20 hours per week)

Essential Functions
  • Responsible for evaluating patients and providing direct podiatric care to One Community Health patients.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely documentation necessary for patient care and billing.
  • Responsible for assuring quality podiatric care delivered to all patients.
  • Responsible for understanding and maintenance of Quality Improvement Program indicators as directed by the Medical Director for the medical department at One Community Health.
  • Responsible for understanding and complying with the Standards of Care and policies for the Medical Clinic.
  • Responsible for understanding and complying with the implementation of clinic policies to ensure appropriate medical follow-up of patients and medical specialty referrals.
  • Understands and follows operations in compliance with applicable state and local laws, regulations and policies.
  • Understands and monitors systems for compliance as necessary. Provides necessary and timely communication to the Medical Director at One Community Health when issues of compliance arise, and complies with a corrective strategy.
  • Understands and follows policies and procedures relative to provider scheduling, schedule changes, template development, etc, coordinating with efforts with the Practice Manager. Promptly communicates problems and issues in these areas to the Medical Director at One Community Health.
  • Assists other medical and general staff, in developing and designing new clinical services, as appropriate to One Community Health’ patient needs.
  • Responsible for attending all appropriate meetings as directed by the One Community Health Medical Director.
  • Evaluate, diagnosis and manage acute and chronic conditions of the lower extremity – foot and ankle.
Additional Duties
  • Participate in work groups, teams, task forces and committees to support ongoing clinic functions. Foster communication and coordination within the clinic and outside agencies by establishing professional working relationships with others to facilitate the delivery of services to the patient.
  • Order or direct ordering of drugs, solutions, and equipment and maintain accurate controls and records for controlled medications. Ensure that clinic staff maintains observance of universal precautions.
  • This position is responsible for reporting suspicion of child, adult (including spouses), elder, and dependent adult abuse as outlined in Penal Code, Section 11166, Section 15630, and Section 1160
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Candidate must be board certified or board eligible for the discipline associated with the role they are applying for.
  • Fully licensed to practice in the state of California.
  • Licenses required for this position must be kept current, valid and in good standing with the presiding entity.
  • Possess a DEA certificate.
