  • Education: Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree from an accredited program.
  • Licensure: Active Indiana state podiatry license; DEA certification for prescribing medications
  • Experience: Completion of a podiatric medicine residency program.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in minor surgical procedures (non-operating room); Prescription of orthotics and therapeutic treatments; Diabetic foot care and preventive education
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration; Empathy and adaptability in a psychiatric care setting
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct medical histories and physical exams focused on foot/ankle health.
  • Diagnose and treat conditions (e.g., bunions, plantar fasciitis, diabetic foot ulcers).
  • Perform minor surgical procedures (e.g., ingrown nail removal).
  • Prescribe orthotics, medications, and therapeutic interventions.
  • Collaborate with psychiatric and medical teams to address mobility challenges.
