The ideal candidate holds a Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine, has clinical hospital or clinic experience, and demonstrates excellent patient communication, precision, and compassion in varied settings across New York City.

Qualifications

• Must have Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine and hospital/clinic experience.
• Strong diagnostic and operative skills in podiatry.

Responsibilities

• Consult patients in clinic or hospital.
• Review patient medical history.
• Examine legs, ankles, and feet to diagnose diseases.
• Perform X-rays and scans of lower extremities.
• Treat sports-related leg/foot injuries.
• Cast or laser therapies for deformities.
• Prescribe orthotics and pain relief meds.
• Order ultrasounds and bone density tests.
• Perform ankle and foot surgeries.
• Advise on proper foot care and therapies.

Podiatrist Responsibilities

• Consulting with patients in a clinic or in hospital.
• Reviewing a patient s medical history.
• Examining a patient s leg, ankles, and feet to diagnose diseases, illnesses, or injuries.
• Performing X-rays and physical scans of a patient s lower extremities.
• Treating sport-related leg or foot injuries.
• Treating deformities and ailments with techniques such as casting or laser therapy.
• Prescribing orthotics and pain relief medication.
• Ordering ultrasounds and bone density tests.
• Performing ankle and foot surgeries.
• Advising patients on proper foot care and therapeutic techniques.

Podiatrist Requirements

• Doctoral degree in podiatric medicine.
• Practical experience in a hospital or clinic.
• In-depth knowledge of modern surgical and therapeutic treatments.
• Knowledge of related medicines and topical treatments.
• Familiarity with foot abnormalities and genetic anomalies.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Advanced diagnostic and fine-motor skills.
• Knowledge of related physical therapy techniques.
• High level of patience and empathy.
• Good decision-making skills.
